Sending Images via Email

StudioLine can create a new email message, attach your images and then and pass it to one of the popular email programs. Select any number of images, then click “Email” on the QuickStep bar. Or, click the right mouse-button on the selected images to open the context menu, then select “Send via Email”.

The “Send via Email” panel opens, where you can determine the size and file format of your image attachments.

Image Size

Click the Image Size button to change the outer dimensions of your image attachments.

Selecting the option “Original Size” will email the images at the full size as they are stored in the Image Archive. Otherwise, choose the most common sizes from the drop-down list or enter custom values for maximum height and width.

The maximum height and width define the outer dimensions into which each image attachment will fit. If necessary, images will be reduced appropriately while maintaining the orientation and aspect ratio. Small images will not be enlarged, as that would impair the picture quality.

Click the “OK” button to return to the “Send via Email” panel.

File Format

StudioLine will propose to email images in the widely recognized and very compact JPEG format. The transmission times during sending and receiving will benefit from the resulting small message size. The estimated size of the email message appears near the bottom of the panel.

For the JPEG file format, you can further customize the image quality by clicking the appropriate button. High qualities result in larger emails. Low qualities may be suitable for a series of images that is sent solely for discussion purposes.

Other file formats always use the quality of the original image. These file formats should only be used for specific applications – such as sending images for print purposes. If you need to send an image with transparent areas or irregular shapes, choose the TIFF or PNG file formats and select the option “with Transparency”.

Sending

Click “OK” on the “Send via Email” panel. If you have compatible email software installed, the program will start and open a new message with the selected images as attachments. Simply enter the recipient email addresses, type a cover letter and send when ready.
