PERSONS INSURED WITH TAE
All private individuals above 18 years of age who are involved in the trade business (individually or as partners of commercial trading companies of any legal state) are obliged to register with and pay contributions to TAE. Pursuant to special provisions (Act 1759/88), cinema entrepreneurs as well as stockbrokers and stockbroker's clerks are registered with TAE. Insurance of the aforementioned individuals with TAE is compulsory by law (there are exceptions to this, under certain conditions, for the special (sleeping) partners of commercial companies, the members of Limited Liability Companies and the members of Administration of S.A. companies. These
individuals are exempt from insurance if they are involved in any other
profession on the basis of which they are obliged to pay contributions
to another main insurance fund. INSURANCE TIME
The insurance relationship between the insured person and TAE begins with commencement of the trading business, continues subject to all legal effects (rights and obligations of the insured) and is ended upon termination of the profession of trader or the voluntary insurance or upon death of the insured person. Conditions
for recognising insurance time for entitlement to a pension or an
increment to the amount of pension received.
