With the score tied at 2-2 at intermission, the second half was a hard-fought struggle until STACY broke the deadlock with a goal from the field. Great Britain Stuns United States 1-0:
One day after registering one of its biggest women's hockey victories (a 3-2 win over Korea), the United States suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Great Britain in the final match of Tuesday's competition. Earlier in the tournament, Korea defeated Great Britain 5-0. Rhona SIMPSON scored in the 51st minute for the lone goal of the game. The United States now stands at 1-1-1, while Great Britain improves to 1-1-1. Final Score: GBR 1, USA 0.

Aussies Edge Germany to Remain Unbeaten:
In a battle of undefeated squads, Australia's Danni ROCHE scored on a flip pass from Alyson ANNAN for the game's only goal as the Aussies defeated Germany 1-0 in Tuesday's opening game. The goal, scored in the 25th minute, was the only blemish on an otherwise flawless day for German goalkeeper Susanne WOLLSCHLAGER, who had five saves and stopped all six of Australia's penalty corner attempts. Final Score: AUS 1, GER 0.

Argentina Downs Spain 1-0:
A goal from Jorgelina RIMOLDI PUIG in the 44th minute gave Argentina a 1-0 victory over Spain Tuesday at Morris Brown College. RIMOLDI PUIG's goal, her second of the Olympic Games, moved Argentina to 1-2 while Spain fell to 0-3. Both teams next play on Thursday, with Argentina facing the United States and Spain taking on Great Britain. Final Score: ARG 1, ESP 0.

British Score Late, Tie Dutch 2-2:
Great Britain's Calum GILES again proved to be his country's secret weapon on penalty corners, slapping home the tying goal in the 65th minute to hand Great Britain a 2-2 tie with the Netherlands in the opening game on Tuesday. Russell GARCIA had the other goal for Great Britain, while Marcus DELISSEN and Floris Jan BOVELANDER scored for the Dutch. GILES's goal was his third penalty corner connection in two games.Final Score: GBR 2, NED 2.
