USA vs. GER
USA Ties Germans in Front of Vice President, Family, 1-1
Cindy WERLEY stole the ball deep in German territory and scored in the 55th minute to give the United States a 1-1 tie with Germany in front of a sellout crowd at Clark Atlanta University and United States Vice President Al Gore and his family. Germany's Melanie CREMER netted a goal in the third minute to give her team its only score of the game.
Final Score: USA 1, GER 1.
"In the second half, the United States played more aggressively," said German coach Berthold RAUTH. "This result is not bad for us. We're still in the tournament and I'm proud of the way my team has played."
AUS vs. GBR
Australia Eludes Great Britain, 1-0
Australia's Michelle ANDREWS slapped home a goal just 6:04 into the match, and the Aussie defense made the lead stand throughout the match, downing Great Britain 1-0 on Friday. Great Britain managed just one shot on goal against an aggressive Aussie defense. With the win, Australia remains the only undefeated team at 4-0-1 while Great Britain slips to 1-2-2.

IND vs. PAK
India, Pakistan Tie in Classic Duel, 0-0
India and Pakistan, the two winningest men's hockey teams in Olympic Games history, renewed their rivalry at Morris Brown College on Friday night. With a boisterous crowd estimated at nearly 15,000 on hand, the two squads tied 0-0. Both defenses were tight, as evidenced by the total of three shots on goal (two by Pakistan and one by India). India now stands at 1-1-2 while Pakistan is 1-2-1.

ESP vs. USA
Spain Clinches Top Spot in Pool A With 7-1 Rout
Spain, the surprise team of this year's Olympic Games, clinched the top position in Pool A on Friday night with a 7-1 victory over the United States. Palo AMAT and Juan ESCARRE scored two goals each to pace the Spanish attack, which accounted for the most goals in men's hockey at this year's Olympic Games. Nick BUTCHER scored the only goal for the United States on a penalty corner shot in the 37th minute. Spain is now 4-0 while the United States is winless at 0-4.
Final Score: ESP 7, USA 1.
GER vs. ARG
Germany Offense Too Much for Argentina, 3-0
Germany's Stefan SALIGER and Andreas BECKER scored in the first half and Patrick BELLENBAUM added a diving goal in the second half as Germany defeated Argentina, 3-0 in the opening men's hockey match on Friday at Morris Brown College. Germany's Volker FRIED was honored after the match for making his 287th international appearance, a number unmatched in German or Olympic history.
