Oliver FIX of Germany, the reigning world champion, bested the field on his first run and held on to win the gold medal in men's canoe/kayak slalom kayak singles on Sunday at the Ocoee Whitewater Center in Tennessee. FIX recorded a clean run of 141.22 that stood during the rest of the competition.
