    Baseball was contested at the Olympic Games as a demonstration sport in 1912, 1936, 1952, 1956, 1964, 1984 and 1988 before becoming a full-medal sport at the 1992 Games in Barcelona. The United States no longer dominates this sport in international play as the Cubans won the gold medal in 1992 followed by Chinese Taipei and Japan.
