    Olympic History
    The Japanese, who introduced the sport into the Olympic Games, have won more medals than any other country -- 16 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze. During the 1972 Games, Willem RUSKA of the Netherlands won both the men’s heavyweight and the open class, making him the only judoka to win two gold medals at one Olympic competition.
