Golden Park
Located in Columbus, Georgia, 108 miles (172 km) southwest
of Atlanta, Golden Park will host the first softball competition ever
held in the Olympic Games. This historic event will feature only women's
competition. The city of Columbus is constructing a new softball complex
and river walk area -- located on the banks of the famous Chattahoochee
River. ACOG will lease the softball field and associated facilities from the city as the site of the Olympic
competition. Athletes and officials will stay at a satellite Olympic
Village at Fort Benning, a U.S. Army post near the city.
