Individual Three Day Event Endurance
Kiwis Take Top Two Spots
Blyth TAIT and Ready Teddy of New Zealand hold a two-day total of 56.8 points after the endurance phase of the individual three day event competition, followed by Sally CLARK and Squirrel Hill, also of New Zealand, with 60.40 penalty points. A gap of 6.8 points separates CLARK from a third-place tie between Kerry MILLIKN and Out and About of the United States and Jean TEULERE and Rodosto of France at 67.2.
David O'CONNOR and Custom Made of the U.S. are the only other pair in striking distance of a medal, just 1.2 points behind MILLIKN and TEULERE. Mary KING and King William of Great Britain, the leaders after dressage, dropped to seventh place following a refusal at the Rabun Hollow Complex, the first cross country refusal of King William's career. The individual three day event will conclude on Friday with the jumping competition.

"I over-corrected and (King William) didn't know where to go," said Mary KING (GBR) of her cross country refusal. "He was simply baffled. He has never stopped before, but he had no choice."
