Men's Skeet Final

Italians Take Two Medals

Ennio FALCO (ITA) and teammate Andrea BENELLI captured the gold and the bronze this morning in the men's skeet final round. FALCO set an Olympic Record and a Final Olympic record in this competition. His preliminary score was a perfect 125 out of 125, and he shot a 24 out of 25 to clinch the gold medal in the final. BENELLI was tied with Miroslaw RZEPKOWSKI (POL) going into the final with a score of 123, but lost the silver when he missed one target in the final. GOLD: Ennio FALCO (ITA), 149; SILVER: Miroslaw RZEPKOWSKI (POL), 148; BRONZE: Andrea BENELLI (ITA), 147.


Men's 50-Meter Free Rifle 3 Position Final

Amat Sets Olympic Record

Jean-Pierre AMAT (FRA) set an Olympic record Saturday when he shot a 1175 in the men's three position event. Sergey BELIEV (KAZ) had an identical score, but lost in the tie breaking system. Silver medalist in the men's air rifle event, Wolfram WAIBEL Jr., placed fourth in the preliminary round.GOLD: Jean-Pierre AMAT (FRA), 1273.9; SILVER: Sergey BELIAEV (KAZ), 1272.3; BRONZE: W.J. WAIBEL (AUT), 1269.6.
