The Olympic Ring, an imaginary circle with a 1.5 mile radius extending outward from the center of Atlanta, and Stone Mountain Park, 16 miles east of Atlanta, are the sites for most of the sessions of the 1996 Games. Within the ring are venues for 20 sports competitions, the Main Press Center and the International Broadcast Center. Venues for other Olympic events are conveniently located throughout the Southeast.
