Qualifications
Each FINA-member nation may enter two athletes in each event and holds selection competitions, or chooses divers, by 5 Jul 1996
Competition Format
The top 18 divers from the preliminaries advance to the semifinals, from which 12 athletes qualify for the finals. Final results are determined by adding semifinal and final round scores.
A tie for 18th place in the preliminaries or 12th place in the semifinals results in all tied divers advancing to the next round.
