What is DVD Region Coding?
ALL DVD-Video play back systems have Region Playback Control ( RPC
) management.
This includes DVD-Video players and PC systems with DVD-Video capability. You can only play
DVD-Video Discs with the same region code as your DVD-Video playback system.
There are 6 regions world-wide, so there are several types of DVD-Video discs
available.
For example,
There are also "All region" DVD-Video discs that can be played on any
DVD-Video playback system.
Normally, there is a region code mark on the package of the DVD-title, but sometimes the
disc also contains the region code mark.
If you have difficulty playing any DVD-Video disc, please check the region code of the
title as well as your DVD-Video playback system. It should be appreciated that some
DVD-Video discs may have been imported from a different region, e.g. from the USA(Region
Code 1) to Europe(Region Code 2) so would therefore not operate on a European Region
Code 2 DVD-Video Playback system.
For European customers :
Region code "2" is the suitable region code for most of Europe.
