Cyber-Time 4.1

Server Setup and Installation

IMPORTANT: It is necessary to unzip the CT41 (Cyber-Time 4.1 Full Package) or CT41U (Cyber-Time 4.1 Upgrade from version 4.0) using the feature of restoring to the original directory structure. Place the unzipped files on the C drive of the server.

The result should be a subdirectory on the C drive root called CyberTime 4.1 Setup. Underneath this subdirectory should be three more, Server Setup, Workstation Setup and Documentation.

Go into the CyberTime 4.1 Setup/Server Setup subdirectory and launch the Setup Program.

The installation program will then guide you through the installation process. Click the "Next" button to proceed from one screen to another. You will be asked first to supply your name and the company name.

Fill out the requested information and click the "Next" button. You will then be asked to provide a destination.

IMPORTANT: While you can place these files anywhere on the network, it is HIGHLY recommended that you place these files in the default subdirectory. If you are upgrading from version 4.0, make a backup of the entire Cyber-Time sub-directory for safety, then continue with the installation and place the new 4.1 version in the current Cyber-Time subdirectory on your system.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you are upgrading from version 4.0 to 4.1, MAKE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you downloaded CT41U.zip and are running the UPGRADE Setup! If you attempt to run the 4.1 full package over your existing Cyber-Time, YOU WILL LOOSE ALL INFORMATION IN EXISTING DATABASES. Only if you want to overwrite the database files should you use the CT40.zip file to install these programs.

If you have ANY questions about this, contact Cyber-Time tech support to receive consultation on what you should do.

When you proceed, you will be asked what to call the folder in the Start/Programs menu of Windows 95/NT. It is recommended that you use the default.

Click the "Next" button to continue. Cyber-Time setup will then begin copying files and setting up icons and other setup procedures. Once the files are done copying, you will be asked if you want to run the application.

IMPORTANT: You must click the "Yes, Launch the program file" then click "Finish".

You are done with the initial setup of the Cyber-Time 4.1 files, now you must continue with the Server Finder and the Company Setup. See the documentation for these two setup procedures.
