QLaunch v2.9.9

New in QLaunch v2.9.8

New in QLaunch v2.9.5

New features in V2.9

QLaunch has a fully functional 14 day trial period. After the 14 days if you have not registered
QLaunch, then it will disable itself. At this point, you can choose to register QLaunch, or you must
delete it from your Palm.

• QLaunch allows you to launch three additional applications, DA's, or special functions
from each of your device's hardkeys. These applications, DA's, or special functions are launched
by holding the hardkeys longer than the normal quick tap used to launch applications.

• To map applications or DA's to hardkeys, do the following:

• In the Key column, tap one of the icons for the hardkey that you want to map
additional applications or DA's to.

• In the Hold column, choose Short, Long, or Longer. This sets if the application or DA is
launched by Short hardkey press, a Long hardkey press, or a Longer hardkey press. The delays
for how long you hold the hardkey is configurable in the preferences menu.

• In the Confirmation column choose the type of confirmation you would like so you know you have
held the key long enough to launch your chosen application. The confirmation type is global for all
hardkeys, but you get a different one for each Hold type.

• In the Action column, choose application or Special depending on what you want QLaunch
to do when the selected hardkey is pressed.
Note: you can only choose one action, you cannot have an application launched and a special
function launched from the same Key with the same Hold type.
Note: DA's will show up under the application list, and they have an icon of a desk, with DA in red under the desk.

• If you chose application, then the pop up list at the bottom of the Action column will display the list
of applications and DA's on your device, if you choose Special, the the pop up list will display the
list of system functions QLaunch can do for you.

Here are the special functions and their explanation:

•Launcher -- Goes to application Launcher
• Keyboard -- Pops up a numeric or alpha keyboard depending on what type of field you are on.
Will only pop keyboard if you are on a field.
• Find -- Pops up the find dialog
• Star/Pref/Calc -- Like tapping the "Star" key on the Tungsten. Launches whatever you have mapped to the "Star" key.
• Toggle Light -- Toggles your backlight
• Toggle Beam -- Toggles the state of your Beam Receive setting in the Preferences Panel. The new state will
be visually displayed for a brief moment.
• Brightness -- pops up the brightness contrast slider
• Menu -- Like tapping the menu key
•Local HotSync -- initiates a HotSync as if you pressed the cradle HotSync button. This is great if you use a
Hotsync cable at the office or with your laptop, just plug it in, Hold the key mapped to this
special function, and you're HotSyncing.
• Blue Prefs -- This will pop up the Bluetooth Preference Panel. This is very useful if you are using WebPro or
VersaMail and have forgotten to turn on Bluetooth in the preferences Panel. This will take you to the Bluetooth
Preference Panel, (you can then turn on Bluetooth), and you can then tap Done and be returned to same
application you were previously using.
• Popup Clock -- This will display the World Clock application for two seconds.
• Command -- Execute Command stroke
• Modem HotSync-- Use this to HotSync using a Modem, or a Bluetooth HotSync.
• Soft Reset -- Performs a soft reset like using the reset pin on the back of your device.
• Turn Off -- Like pressing the Power Off Button.
• Toggle Private -- Toggles the Security Preference "Current Privacy" setting between "Show Private Records" and
"Hide Private Records". NOTE:This will take effect the next time an applications database is opened. i.e. If you
are already in DateBook, then toggling to Hide Private Records does not make private records immediately
dissappear from your screen. If you exit DateBook and return, then your records will be hidden. The new state
will be visually displayed for a brief moment.
• Toggle Alm Sound -- Toggles your alarm sound between Off and your previous setting. The new state will be
visually displayed for a brief moment.
• Graffiti Help -- This will pop-up the graffiti reference panel.
• Toggle All Sound -- This is like toggling between Custom and Silent in the sound preference panel. The new
state will be visually displayed for a brief moment.
• Toggle Last App -- This will toggle you between your current application, and the last application you used. Currently
this will only work for applications that exist in RAM, and it will automatically ignore the launcher, otherwise
it would be pretty useless.
• Tog. Private Mask -- Toggles the Security Preference "Current Privacy" setting between "Show Private Records"
and "Mask Private Records". NOTE:This will take effect the next time an applications database is opened. i.e.
If you are already in DateBook, then toggling to Mask Private Records does not make private records immediately
become masked on your screen. If you exit DateBook and return, then your records will be hidden. The new state
will be visually displayed for a brief moment.
• PTunes Popup -- This special function will launch Pocket Tunes if it
is not running in the background. If Pocket Tunes is running in the background,
then this will bring up the Pocket Tunes Popup control on V1.5 or higher of Pocket Tunes.
• Toggle StayOff -- This will toggle the enabling of the StayOff functionality
on the preference menu.
• AeroPod Popup -- This special function will launch AeroPlayer if it
is not running in the background. If AeroPlayer is running in the background,
then this will bring up the AeroPod Popup control on V1.4 or higher of AeroPlayer.
•Lock -- This will lock your Palm if you have a password set in the security Application.
•Set AutoOff -- This will allow you to set your Auto Off time between 30 seconds and 2 hours. This is useful to help keep your auto off time at 30 seconds to save battery, but easily set it to 3 minutes while reading an e-book or some other activity.
•Alpha Keyboard -- This is like tapping the Abc on the graffiti area. This is useful to bring up the keyboard in alpha mode, or to launch another keyboardtype hack like FatFinger that expects to see the Abc tapped.
•Numeric Keyboard -- This is like tapping the 123 on the graffiti area. This is useful to bring up the keyboard in numeric mode, or to launch another keyboardtype hack that expects to see the 123 tapped.
•Popup Time -- This will display the current time and date for ~2 seconds. This is especially useful for those who lock their device, as it will still display the time with the device locked.
•Set AutoSilence -- This will bring up a menu that allows you to choose the amount of time you would like your sounds to be disabled for, and then it will automagically re-enable your sounds after the time you specify expires. This is useful if you are entering a meeting and do not want to be bothered or disturb others by alarms going off, but then you don't have to remember to re-enable your sounds after the meeting.
•Toggle BlueTooth -- If you have V1.6 or greater of BtToggle installed, then executing this special function will allow you to toggle your BlueTooth radio.
• Popup Specials -- This will popup up the entire list of Special functions,
and allow you to choose one of them by either tapping on it, or using the navigator
to cursor down to the one you want and then pressing the navigator select key to choose
the Special Function you want to activate.
• If you want to unmap a hardkey, tap the Clear button.

• Check the Enabled box to enable QLaunch. If this box is not checked, QLaunch will not launch any
of your applications, even if mapped.

•Stay Off Functionality:

Stay off Functionality will allow you to prevent your Palm from turning on if your buttons are pressed accidentally.

Enabling this feature will prevent the keys you specify from turning on your Palm.
Note: QLaunch must be enabled for this feature to work.

The "Only If Held" checkbox will only keep your Palm off if this button is pressed and held, similar to
being in a case and the button gets pressed and held down and your Palm battery ends up dead!! If you
enable this option, your Palm will still turn on with the keys quickly pressed and released, but will not turn on
if the key is pressed and held. So with the "Only If Held" option, the "Stay Off Functionality" feature is less
intrusive to daily use of your Palm.
