Each surface can have its own material. A material consist of color, opacity, shininess, shininess strength and reflectivity components.

Color specifies the color of the surface.
Opacity controls the opacity of the surface. 0% will make the surface completely transparent; 100% will make the surface completely opaque.
Shininess controls the size of highlights. if Shininess Strength is 0% then this parameter has no effect.
Shininess Strength controls the intensity of highlights.
Reflectivity controls how much the surface reflects the Reflection image. The surface has no reflection if this value is 0% or if you haven't specified a Reflection image, see Reflection.

Linking Materials

You can share material settings between surfaces by linking. You do this by selecting the surface you want to link to in the combobox. Any changes you make to either surface will now effect both surfaces. You can unlink a material by selecting custom in the combobox.
