Socket Methods

The methods of the Socket class are listed below. For a complete list of Socket class members, see the Socket Members topic.

Public:

Accept Creates a new Socket instance to handle an incoming connection.
BeginAccept [To be supplied.]
BeginConnect [To be supplied.]
BeginReceive [To be supplied.]
BeginReceiveFrom [To be supplied.]
BeginSend [To be supplied.]
BeginSendTo [To be supplied.]
Bind Associates a socket with an end point.
Close Forces a socket connection to close.
Connect Establishes a connection to a remote system.
EndAccept [To be supplied.]
EndConnect [To be supplied.]
EndReceive [To be supplied.]
EndReceiveFrom [To be supplied.]
EndSend [To be supplied.]
EndSendTo [To be supplied.]
Equals (inherited from Object) Determines whether the specified Object is the same instance as the current Object. Subclasses are expected to override this method to support value equality (not reference equality).
GetHashCode (inherited from Object) Serves as a hash function for a particular type, suitable for use in hashing algorithms and data structures like a hash table.
GetSockOpt Gets the value of a socket option.
GetType (inherited from Object) Gets the Type of the Object.
Listen Places a socket in a listening state.
Poll Determines the status of the socket.
Receive Overloaded. Receives data from a connected socket.
ReceiveFrom Overloaded. Receives a datagram and stores the source end point.
Select Determines the status of a socket.
Send Overloaded. Sends data to a connected socket.
SendTo Overloaded. Sends data to a specific end point.
SetSockOpt Overloaded. Sets a socket option.
Shutdown Disables sends and receives on a socket.
ToString (inherited from Object) Returns a String that represents the current Object.
