XmlReader.IsStartTag (XmlIdent)

Tests if the current content node is a start tag with a given identifier.

[Visual Basic]
Overloads Public Function IsStartTag( _
   ByVal id As XmlIdent _
) As Boolean
[C#]
public bool IsStartTag(
   XmlIdent id
);
[C++]
public: bool IsStartTag(
   XmlIdent* id
);
[JScript]
public function IsStartTag(
   id : XmlIdent
) : Boolean;

Parameters

id
The identifier of the start tag for which to test.

Return Value

true if the resulting node is a start tag with the given identifier, false otherwise.

Exceptions

Exception Type Condition
ArgumentException If id is null or does not belong to the same context as the reader.
XmlException If incorrect XML is encountered in the input stream.

Remarks

This method skips whitespace, comments, and processing instructions until the reader is positioned on a content node. The method then tests if the current node is a start tag with the given identifier.

The given identifier must belong to the same context as the reader. To obtain an XmlIdent for a given name and namespace URI, first get the value of the reader's Context property and then call one of the GetID methods on that context.
