Changing a permission set

It is possible to change the content of a particular permission set using CASPol. This is done by importing a new permission set xml file that replaces the old permission set. No out-of-the-box permission set with the exception of Internet and LocalIntranet can be altered, though. For the PDC release of caspol no permission sets that are currently in use by a code group can be altered.

In order to change the permission set, either alter an existing permission set xml file or author a new one .Then use the following syntax to replace the old permission set with the new one:

Caspol –chgpset pset_file pset_name

The command below shows how the FilePset permission set in the user policy gets changed to the content of the NewPset file.

Caspol –user –chgpset NewPset.xml FilePset
