Software Distribution Tools

The software distribution tools included with the Microsoft SDK for Java include the following.

Cabarc handles the archiving of multiple files in a compressed format.

Cert2spc creates a Software Publisher's Certificate (SPC) from one or multiple X.509 certificates (for test purposes only).

Certmgr manages certificates, certificate trust lists (CTLs), and certificate revocation lists (CRLs).

Chkjava allows users to view security information placed in a cabinet file by the signcode tool with the JavaSign DLL.

Chktrust checks the validity of a file.

Cprmedit edits Java permissions for security zones recognized by Microsoft® Internet Explorer 4.0 and later.

Dubuild writes an Open Software Distribution (OSD) file and places it in a cabinet file archive with any specified contents.

Makecert generates a test X.509 certificate.

MakeCTL creates a certificate trust list (CTL) and saves the encoded CTL to a certificate store or to a file.

Piniedit creates and edits .ini files for use with the signcode tool.

Setreg changes registry settings.

Signcode signs a cabinet file with Java permissions.
