Sources
Add new sources to the current encoding session, edit the properties of existing sources, or remove sources that you do not want to include in the session.
- Name. Type a name for the source. Click Remove if you no longer want to include the source in the session. (Note that a session must include at least one source.)
- Source from. Select the source (devices, file, or both), then choose the source type to encode (video, audio, and scripts). If you are encoding from a digital device, your device must be turned on or it will not be displayed in the list of devices. After you assign a device to a source, you cannot use it for any other source in the session.
- At end. If you have multiple sources in your session, select the action you want to occur when the end of a source is reached. (This option is only available when the source is a file with either an .avi, .wav, .wmv, .wma or .mp3 file name extension) You can choose to a source, roll to the next source in the list when the end of the source is reached, or roll to the first source in the list when the end of the source is reached. By default, encoding stops when the end of a source is reached.
- Mark in/out (file sources only). Click to specify where in the file you want to start and end encoding.
- Archiving. If you are encoding a broadcast, have chosen to archive a copy of it, and have multiple sources in your session, click the archive option you want for each source. For example, you might want to archive the main event and pause archiving during the intermission.
You can add sources before or after you begin encoding. To rearrange the order in which your sources are displayed in the main window of the encoder, select a source, and then click the up arrow button
or down arrow button
.
