OLE Directory Services (DS) provides a framework and implementation for interfaces that abstract the properties and methods of well known directory service objects found within multiple network environments. You can use OLE DS services to query, enumerate and manage the resources in a directory service, no matter which network environment is associated with the resource. OLE DS abstracts the capabilities of directory services from different network providers to present a single set of directory service interfaces for managing network resources, making it easier to perform common administrative tasks such as adding users and locating resources. This session covers the basic design and architecture of OLE DS.
