A Threat of More Bloodshed
The following is the translation of a letter, dated 31 March 1997, sent under the pseudonym, "Lobsang Jungney". It celebrates the murder of Ven. Lobsang Gyatso and his two students. The sender, obviously a Shugden activist, threatens more bloodshed.
Alas! Divisionist Da1 and Sam2,
First two Kagyud factions.
Second two Dotoed factions.
Third two Gelug factions.
You have accumulated everlasting bad karma by creating rifts in the monastic community and, thus, setting in motion a cycle of bloodshed. You pretend to be followers of the Buddha. But, look at your brand of non-violent, peaceful path. In the Great Arya Liberation Sutra, it is stated, "Creating breach among the monks is akin to killing all the human beings and other sentient beings in the Three Realms. And it brings as much bad karmic results."
Therefore, you two, Da and Sam, are not the followers of the Buddha. The Lord Buddha forsook his kingdom, although he was born a king. You two are Islamists. Islamic spiritual teachers would go for political power.
Did you enjoy eating the three carcasses at the time of the Happy Fire-ox Losar, this year? You will be treated to many more carcasses if you continue the present practice.
A-ma-ho!
Signed:
Monk Lobsang Jungney from Sera Monastery in South India.
