header: Lights are going out...

Thousands of migrating birds, navigating by the moon and stars in the pre-dawn hours, are distracted by city lights. Crashing into brightly illuminated structures or high windows, they are killed or maimed.

In Toronto, WWF-Canada and FLAP (the Fatal Light Awareness Program) have launched a campaign to convince owners and occupiers of tall buildings to black them out at night, especially at peak migrating times. Buildings enrolled in the program are designated "Bird Friendly", and display a special WWF/FLAP logo.
