AEG Hausgeräte (Domestic Appliances) to make the "green line", five major home appliances that are 25 percent more energy efficient. AEG, a large German based producer of home appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines and refrigerators, pledged to make consumer products 25 percent more energy efficient by February 1999 in an effort to combat climate change caused by increasing fossil fuel emissions.

Below are the steps that businesses are urged to take.
- Increase energy efficiency and otherwise reduce the use of
coal, oil, and gas
- Convert all lighting to "energy efficient lighting"
- Work together with other industries on the development of production methods that conserve energy
- Modify practices that destroy or degrade the environment or adversely affect endangered species
- Be sparing in their use of paper and preferably use recycled paper
- Be sparing in their use of water
- Be moderate in their energy use (use low-energy light bulbs, high efficiency central heating
boiler, double glazing)
- Make the choice for "green" energy
- Paper/Publishing/Packaging companies: ensure you only trade in FSC labelled wood products by the
year 2000
- Commit to purchasing FSC labelled furniture next time you have your offices refurbished
