SAVE OUR SEAS

More than 70 per cent of the earth' s surface is covered by sea - a vast and constantly moving environment that teems with life of all kinds: from sharks to herrings, from corals to limpets. Much of this marine wildlife plays an important part in the lives of human beings, providing food, medicines, and minerals. But over the years people have abused the sea, plundering its fish stocks, poisoning it with pollution and damaging its coasts. As a result, its health is at risk.

The sea is a conservation priority for WWF. This leads the organization to work with coastal communities, government representatives, and scientists, as well as industrialists and travel agents, to protect and maintain oceans and coasts all over the world.
