Track Items

The items below can be found scattered around the track and can be picked up by driving over them. Bots will pick up and use these items, too. Rated by significance, they are:

Crystals

Most important -- each crystal gives you a little more power. Pick up as many as you can, as soon as you can. Only the first 10 count for a boost, but denying the other tanks use of them is also important.

Nitro

These cans give you a little supply of nitro. You can build it up and save it. Hold down the nitro key to ignite it. You get a speed boost (similar to hitting a turbo, below). You can carry up to 3 nitro canisters. Save it for straight-aways and passing tanks. Nitro canisters reappear after about 1 second.

Turbos

You don't actually pick these up, but running through a red arrow gives your tank a limited turbo for about 1-1.5 seconds, in the direction you were pointing. Make sure to hit the turbo at the right direction or you'll put yourself into a wall!

Shells

These are fired out of your cannon. Each box (the tall ones) gives you 3 shells. Shells have an large shock wave that expands from the point of impact. You can carry up to 12 shells. Shell boxes reappear after 1 second.

Gum

Picking up a gum box (the short one) gives you one stick of pre-chewed gum, which fires out of the back of your tank. Gum remains on the track until somebody runs over it, which immediately gums up their tank for a second. Hitting gum while turning can potentially grab one track of your tank and spin you around, so if you have to hit it be sure to plow straight through. You can carry up to 3 pieces. Gum boxes reappear after 1 second.

Tikkis

Appearing only in Tikki Hunt Races and Battlemode (see Networking), collecting these is necessary to winning the race.
