How to use Abe’s MP3 Finder

Using Abe’s MP3 Finder is very easy. Simply follow these three steps:

1. Enter the name of the song or the artist that you want to search for and press the Search button.

2. Wait until Abe’s MP3 Finder has found a music file that you are interested in downloading.

3. To download, double click on an interesting file in the Files Found list box.

Abe’s MP3 Finder will find MP3 files from smb, http and ftp sites. It includes built in support for downloading from http sites and smb sites. We especially recommend you to try the links from the new smb protocol. They are almost as reliable as the http links, but there are much more of them.

To download from ftp sites, you will have to use an ftp client. Installing an ftp client can be difficult sometimes, so please read Instructions for Installing FTP Client.

Go!Zilla can be used to download from http sites. It will let you resume interrupted downloads.

The icons at the left in the file list tell you about the quality of the file. A happy smiley indicates a high quality file, while a "sad smiley" means low quality. If the file is on an ftp site, the quality cannot be determined, and an ftp icon is shown instead.
