Instructions for Installing FTP Client
- To download mp3 files from ftp sites, you have to install an ftp client. Abe's Ftp Client is free and is installed by default, but you can use others if you like (see Options).
Many of the ftp sites are ratio sites. That means you have to upload something before you can download the music you want. For example, if the ratio is 1:3, you will have to upload 1Mb for each 3Mb you want to download.
There will be problems if you use a download manager like Go!Zilla to download from ftp sites, since almost all ftp sites are ratio sites, and currently you cannot upload with Go!Zilla. This may change in the future, and we will try to sort out which sites are ratio and which are not.
Troubleshooting
Why doesn’t my ftp client log in automatically when I click on a link in Abe’s MP3 Finder?
- You are probably using an old version of the ftp client. If you use Abe's Ftp Client, this error will not occur.

Why can’t I download mp3 files with my ftp client?
- Most ftp sites are ratio sites, which means that you have to upload something before you download. For information on how to upload files, please read the documentation of your ftp client. Only upload files that you think the ftp site owner wants, or you will be banned from the ftp site.
