SCOL (Standard Cryo Online Language) was developed by Cryonetworks in 1997. SCOL was designed to create a new generation of three-dimensional Internet site, closer to reality and more user-friendly. Unlike other programming languages, SCOL is specifically designed for network use. Until now, each user on a Web site received information separately; with a site built using SCOL, visitors are connected to each other, can see each other, communicate with each other and move around within this site, thus forming a veritable virtual community. This is SCOL's main distinctive feature. Furthermore, SCOL is compatible with most multimedia formats (Jpeg, Png, Wav, Mp3, Avi, Mpeg, Real, Quick Time), making it possible to further enhance site content. In essence, SCOL sites are interactive, lived-in and animated.
