I am getting a blank screen | Possible
problem: You do not have DirectX installed. Check to make sure you
have DirectX. Go to Required Files if you do not have it. Our new screensavers
(created after 1999, will automatically check to see if you have this). Look for the
folder DirectX in C:\Program Files. If you do not have it you can download and use
it for free. Just go to Required Files on our web site. Possible problem: Check to make sure C:\NexusMedia\NAME_OF_SCREENSAVER folder is created and has the .bmp files in it. Back to top |
|
Error 380 | Possible
problem: You do not have an Intel processor. AMD and Cyrix processors
cause these errors on many machines (but not all). We have split up a registry file
and that seems to help, otherwise there is no solution. Possible problem: You have an older version of the product. Check our web site for the latest versions. All versions now posted should not give this error. Back to top |
|
Unable to register Tegoxxx.ocx | Possible
problem: You do not have DirectX installed. Go to Required Files and
download and install DirectX. You most likely will need to reinstall the screen
saver AFTER you install DirectX Back to top |
|
Password keeps prompting me |
Possible problem: There are two areas where the
password option is set. The first is in Control Panel > Display
> Screensavers tab and is located directly beneath the screensaver list
box. Make sure this box is unchecked. The second place is in the same area
except click the SETTINGS button to the right of the screensaver listbox.
Within the control box that opens you will see the password option. If neither of
these are checked try simply reinstalling the screensaver. All of our screensavers
are sent with the default password set at "" which means if the password box
does open simply click OK or Enter. Possible problem: During the
installation the computer did not write the registry file. This usually happens on
Non-Intel Machines. We will soon have the registry files on our website for you to
manually install and this should fix the problem. |
|
Can't download from your listed links |
Possible
problem: We test these links daily so in 95% of the cases it has to do with
your browser and Internet connection. For example, in Microsoft Internet Explorer,
try deleting any reference to NexusMedia within the History folder and the Temp
Internet Folder located in C:\Windows folder.
Once these references have been deleted they will no longer be in your memory and they
should load without problems. (* NOTE: They ALL must be deleted.) Also you may have to wait a day or so
before you try again. I do not know why this is the case but especially in
Microsofts Internet Explorer. This even causes us problems when we update the web
page and test it. We usually have to wait 1 day to see what the changes look like. |

AOL Users | Possible
problem: Do not minimize AOL and you should be fine. This refers to
Flash Sessions etc... Back to top |

Screensaver will not come on when it is suppose to |
Possible
problem: We do not know the reasons for this and it happens to us as well.
Windows is very fickle about when to start a screensaver. For example if you click
on the START button and leave the options expanded (so you see the options Programs, Run,
Settings, etc...) the screensaver will not start... ever. This is with ALL
screensavers not just ours. There are many of these examples and it may just
be that you inadvertently did one. If you consistently have this problem please
gives us details so we can help figure it out. Back to top |
|
Screensaver is not showing up in the list box | Possible problem: Windows looks in the folders: C:\Windows and C:\Windows\System
for the files with the .scr extensions. Search both of these folders for the
screensaver. If it is not there run a search in Windows Explorer for the file and if
you find it place it in one of these folders. Otherwise reinstall. Starting in 2000 we will begin placing
the .scr file in C:\Windows\System. One big
problem is .scr files that are named the same. Windows will only list one of them. |
|
Suspend Mode | Starting
in year 2000: We have figured out a way for you to use the Power Management
feature and we will begin updating all of our screensavers with this new code. This
will be extremely time consuming so please bare with us while we undertake this process. Possible problem:
Check to make sure all energy saving devices such as suspend mode have been turned
off. These screensavers use DirectX which makes for a flicker-free screensaver
however it is not compatible with these energy saving devices. |
|
Need monitor capable of 64k colors |
Possible
problem: You have your color setting set to 256 colors. These screensavers
use higher color quality than 256 so you will need to set your color setting to 16-Bit
(High Color) Click here for directions on how to do
this. Back to top |
|
Minimum requirements | Intel
pentium (NOTE: Some AMD and Cyrix processors may lead to Error 380) DirectX Color setting set to 16-Bit (High Color) Back to top |

Screensaver stops working after a period of time |
Possible problem: This should never happen and we still
have not figured out why it is happening. This problem has only been reported a maybe 3
instances. One possible cause could be energy saving devices such as suspend
mode. Check all energy saving devices and make sure they are all turned off. Update: (12-21-99) We are pretty sure
this has to do with Power Management. We will begin updating all of our screensavers
in the year 2000 with code that works with power management. |
|
Sound will not stop | Possible problem: In many of the 1.0 versions of these
screensavers this was a problem within the code. We have since fixed that code in
all the screensavers with a version number higher than 1.0 (i.e.: 1.0.2) If you have
a newer version and this problem is still happening turn off the sound option in the
Control Box of the Screensaver. If you experience this problem you do not need to
reboot your computer. Simply press Ctrl > Alt at the same time
and keep pressed, then click Delete. This will bring up a task list.
Find the screensaver, highlight it and press END TASK. Possible problem: Some
of our screensavers use MIDI files (x.mid). The only reason we can find that would
cause some of you to have problems would be the Active Player. This is a utility
that Microsoft installs when you install Windows 98. It could be that it has become
corrupt. Go into Windows Explorer and double-click on a .mid file to see if it
plays. Active Movie should automatically open and begin playing the file. You
can reinstall the Active Moving by placing your Windows 98 CD into the CD Drive and choose

Icons get shuffled | Possible
problem: Most likely you are using a resolution higher than 800x600. A
quick fix is to set your resolution to 800x600 which is the most common setting. If
you do not want to change your resolution you can lined up your icons horizontally. If
this doesn't work experiment with an icon configuration until you find one that works. Back to top |

FireGL Problem | It has been brought to our attention that the FireGL video card is defective. The manufacturer continually post updates in an attempt to fix it. If you have this card more than likely this is your problem.
Download | When
you are on a particular product page you will see an area labeled "FREE
DOWNLOAD". There are 1 to 4 links given. Each link will have a
"file type". File types are either .exe or .zip.
With the .zip file type you will need a program such as WinZip to extract the files, (see
below on how to use WinZip). Once you have decided on the file type (.exe is the easiest for beginners) then simply click it. You will then be prompted to Save File To Disk. Save it to a spot on your hard drive and remember where! Downloading will start, and when finished sign off the Internet and go to that file. (See below: INSTALL) Back to top |
|
Install | If
you downloaded the .exe file type then you should go into Windows Explorer (START
> PROGRAMS > WINDOWS EXPLORER). Go to the folder you downloaded the file to
and simply double-click that file to begin installing. If you downloaded the .zip file
type then you should go into Windows Explorer (START > PROGRAMS > WINDOWS
EXPLORER). Go to the folder you downloaded the file to and simply double-click that
file. If you have an extracting program such as WinZip then that should
automatically open. You then need to extract the zip file contents to a place on
your hard drive. Within these files to be extracted you will see the .exe file (for
example: AquaSupreme.exe) . Double-click this exe file to begin installation. |
|
Order | Click Here for order info Back to top
Use WinZip | WinZip is our recommendation for a extracting program. (www.winzip.com) When you have a file with a .zip extension you only need to double-click that file to open WinZip. Once WinZip is open it will display the contents of the .zip file. You will see a button on the top of the window that reads "Extract". Click this button and you will be asked where to extract the files to. Once you have chosen a destination and clicked OK the files within the .zip file will be extracted to the folder destination you chose. Remember where the destination is! Once the files have been extracted (very quick) then you need to go to that folder and find the file Product_Name.exe (for example: AquaSupreme.exe) It will be the only exe file there. Double-click that exe file to begin installation. Back to top
Check Resolution | Click
START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL. This will bring a group of icons up.
Find the DISPLAY icon and double-click it. Now you will have a window with tabs on
top. Choose the SETTINGS tab and you will see an area labeled
"COLORS". Select 16-Bit (High Color). Then you need to look for the SCREEN AREA. Set this to 800x600 (this is the most popular setting and what most web pages are designed for. Back to top |
|
Check For DirectX | START
> PROGRAMS > WINDOWS EXPLORER Once you are in Windows Explorer look for the folder C:\Program Files and expand that folder (do this by clicking the "+" sign beside the folder name. Once this has been expanded scroll down. If you see a folder named DirectX then most likely you have it. If you do not have it go to our Required Files section and download it... it is free. |
Check For msvbvm50.dll | START
> PROGRAMS > WINDOWS EXPLORER Once you are in Windows Explorer look for the folder C:\Windows\System and click that folder Look in the right pane for the file name msvbvm50.dll. If you do not have it go to our Required Files section and download it... it is free. Required Files Back to top |
