Xara Webster Movies - Color
Coloring Objects - Color Gallery (22 seconds)
AVI Format (265K)
This movie shows applying colors from the Color Gallery. First it shows dragging a color
from the Web Browser Colors section of the Gallery onto the center of the rectangle
(the fill color) . (You can use any color that's in the Gallery, even those in other
documents.) Notice the white rectangle to the right of the mouse pointer when over the
center of the rectangle. This tells you that dropping the color will apply it as the
fill color.
Then the movie shows changing the line color. The color used is one already used in the
document. The vertical bar to the right of the mouse pointer tells you when you are over
the line.
Coloring Objects - Color Editor (37 seconds)
AVI Format (475K)
This movie shows using the Color Editor to change an object's fill and line colors.
- The basic color (the hue) of the fill is selected from the horizontal strip on the
bottom of the Color Editor. The movie shows green being selected.
- Clicking on the color square or dragging the white cross lets you select the
exact shade you want. Notice how the color of the rectangle updates as you make
changes in the Color Editor.
- Clicking the "216 Only" button selects the nearest color on the 216 color Netscape
Navigator palette. Using colors from this palette improves the look of your graphics
when viewed on-screen. You can see the improvement in the color of the rectangle.
- Clicking the "No Color" button makes the center of the rectangle totally transparent
so you can see the red rectangle underneath.
- Clicking the "Edit line" button lets you edit the line color in the same way as the fill.

Copying Color Between Objects (16 seconds)
AVI Format (255K)

objects. Selecting the green rectangle displays its color in the
Color Editor. You can then drag-and-drop from either color panel
on the Color Editor onto another object (the red rectangle).
