What is a Domain Name? |
The domain name is the base url of your web document. For example if your whole web address is http://www.xyz.com/java/applets/flame.html, your domain name will be www.xyz.com
|
How many times can I use the applets on my site. |
With one ID_KEY, you can use the applets as many times as you want in your domain.
|
What if I don't have my own domain anem and use a free hosting service such as geocities or tripod.. |
Then you will need to get ID_KEY's for the domain names of your provider. for example. if you host on geocities and your web address is http://members.geocities.com/yourwebsite/, the you will need to register the domain name "members.geocities.com"
|
What if I have name1.xyz.com and name2.xyz.com. |
Those are two different domain name and you will need two ID_KEY for each one of those domains. For our system, www.xyz.com is the same as xyz.com. They will have the same ID_KEY. But name1.xyz.com will have a different ID_KEY from xyz.com
|
What if my site can be reach by two for more domain names. |
For simplicity, you will require two or more ID_KEY's, one for each domain name. Within the ID_KEY parameter, you can put more then one ID_KEY value by separating them by '+' signs. For example, if you two domain names abc.com and xyz.com both point to the same website. Your code will be
<parameter name="ID_KEY" value="6s123123123123123+6s789789789789789">
|
If I change the domain name or moved my site can i transfer my registration. |
No, you will need to buy a new ID_KEY for the new domain name. This is done for simplicity and to reduce fraud.
