Utilities Directory

This directory contains various utilities to improve the look of your desktop, security programs to protect your data from prying eyes, and much more.

In UTILS/ENHANCERS:

A small utility to enable task switching.
BlockSize 1.12 (Darren Salt, freeware)
A small utility which counts the disk space used by file. Supports interactive help.
Calendar 1.00 (John Paul Stanford, freeware)
A simple little program which displays a calendar on the desktop.
DiscInfo 1.00 (John Paul Stanford, freeware)
A small utility to give you information about the currently installed disk.
ExtraBar 0.84 (David McCormack, freeware)
This program adds an extra icon bar to the desktop, which is fully configurable.
FileCopy 1.31 (John Paul Stanford, freeware)
This program allows you to copy files to discs, and includes disc spanning capability.
FormatPlus 1.03 (Darren Salt, freeware)
A utility to provide more disc formatting options to the desktop.
KeyMouse 1.00 (Nicholas Kingsley, freeware)
This utility enables the mouse pointer to be controlled from the keyboard.
LoadAll 0.01 (Darren Salt, freeware)
A program which causes files within a directory to be loaded.
LongFiles2 2.06 (Jason Tribbeck, freeware)
A program to break the 10 character filename limit in Risc OS.
TaskMaster 1.54a (Mik Towse, shareware)
A task manager and utilities suite.
Toolkit 1.1 (John Paul Stanford, shareware)
A suite of handy desktop utilities.
Twitcher 0.10 (David McCormack, freeware)
Provides some noticeable enhancements to Risc OS.

In UTILS/GAMES:

Mapper 4.11 (Nicholas Kingsley, freeware)
Likely to be the final version, this utility allows you to design game maps.

In UTILS/PCUTILS:

DOS_Format 0.21ß (Darren Salt, freeware)
A small command line for formatting non-standard DOS disks.

In UTILS/PRINTING:

LPR_Front 0.03 (Liam Gretton, freeware)
A frontend for Roger Gamman's lpr client (version used is 0.12), which allows the user to send jobs to remote printers.

In UTILS/PROGRAMING:

AppSquash 1.27 (Darren Salt, freeware)
This program will squash application image files, modules, and BASIC programs,producing files that, when run, will unsquash themselves and then run as if they hadn't been squashed. It can also handle modules squeezed using modsqz.
Basil 0.99 (Steve Drain, freeware)
A BASIC programming library.
BinDiff 0.03 (Liam Gretton, freeware)
A utility for comparing binary files.
DA_Support 0.04 (Liam Gretton, freeware)
A Dynamic Area Support module for external clients.
Mod_Info 0.30 (David McCormack, freeware)
A utility for comparing module versions.
RFSApps, RFSFiles 0.91 (Steve Drain, freeware)
These files allow you to reconfigure what applications appear under the Apps icon on Risc OS 3.6 or above machines.
SetAlias 1.06 (Darren Salt, freeware)
A utility for setting aliases under Risc OS. It enhances and adds to the commands already present in Risc OS.
