Set a custom desktop image for a space

One of the best features of Hyperspaces is it's ability to draw a different desktop image on each of your spaces. This makes it really easy to see which space you are in.

If you do not have a custom desktop image set for the current space, it will use the desktop picture set by the system.

To set a custom desktop image for the current space:

  1. Open the Hyperspaces Preferences.
  2. Select the Spaces tab.
  3. Select the space you would like to change the name for from the space selection view.
  4. Ensure that the Image tab is selected.
  5. You have two choices:
    1. Drag an image from the finder and drop it onto the image well.
    2. Click the button with a magnifying glass on it, and browse for an image: Magnifying glass icon
  6. Once you have set a custom desktop image, you have access to the same controls you would when changing the system desktop image, including the scaling mode and the fill color.

Setting a custom desktop image via the Dock icon

If the Dock icon is shown, you can also drag an image onto the Dock icon to set it as the custom desktop image for the current space.
