Choosing a font, type size, and style

A font is an assortment of alphanumeric characters in a particular typeface design. You can set the font, type size, and style for selected type using either the text tool modifiers or the Font dialog box. Type size is set in points, regardless of the current ruler units.

1 Select the characters you want to change as described in Selecting text.
2 If you selected type blocks with the arrow tool, select the text tool.
3 Choose a font from the Font modifier.
4 For type size, choose a size from the Size modifier or type a value.
5 For style, click the Bold or Italic modifiers.

To choose a font, type size, and style with the Font dialog box:

1 Select the characters you want to change as described in Selecting text.
2 Choose Modify > Font.
3 Choose a font, type size, and style from the options in the dialog box.
