Aligning type

Alignment determines the position of each line of type in a paragraph relative to the left and right edges of the type block. Type can be aligned to the left or right edges of the type block, centered within the type block, or aligned to both the left and right edges of the type block (full justification).

To align type:

1 Select the characters you want to change as described in Selecting text.
2 Do one of the following:
Choose an alignment option from the Alignment modifier of the text tool.
Choose Modify > Style and choose an alignment option from the submenu.
