Playing MP3 links with
SoundSpinner MP3 in your browser
QuickTime 4 installs a browser plug-in that by default handles playback of MP3 files in your browser.
Using the QT plug-in to play MP3 files
When you click on an link to an MP3 file in your browser, the plug-in will in most cases open an empty window, download the MP3 file as a temporary file and play it. If the browser later runs out of disk space for its cache-memory, the MP3 file may be deleted.
Using SoundSpinner to play MP3 files
If you want to keep your downloaded files on disk and let SoundSpinner MP3 play the file in the background without tying up your browser with audio playback, you may follow the steps described on the following pages.
When you then click on a link, the MP3 file will be downloaded to the same folder where your browser place other downloaded files, and SoundSpinner will play the file when it is available. You can later move the mp3 files to another folder and organize them into SoundSpinner Albums.
