How do I get Educast? Currently, Educast is available as a beta release. If you would like to participate in our beta program, visit the download page. The final release of the product will be available in Fall 1997. |

How does the technology work? The Educast Network uses a combination of client and server software. When your computer is idle, Educast checks your customized update schedule and delivers the information you have chosen directly to your computer screen. |

Will Educast work with a dial-up connection? Yes. The dial-up connection MUST assign you a valid IP address. It will work with Netcom or any other dial-up Internet Service Provider. As for the online services, it depends on how Internet access is implemented. Currently, Educast will work with America Online. |

What content is available and what sources are used? Educast includes content especially selected for you as teachers and administrators, such as curriculum activities, educational news, staff development, and professional information. Currently, Educast acquires information from well-respected sources, including USA Today, Education Week, the Department of Education, and Teacher Magazine. |

How will Educast handle software updates? Educast will automatically update itself when a new version exists on the network. |

Am I always connected to the Internet? No. Educast is only connected to the Internet during information updates scheduled by you. |

What information do you gather about me or my computer? We respect the privacy of our viewers and do NOT collect any information regarding software programs, utilities, etc. resident on individual computers. To provide the best service, we collect basic demographic information that viewers volunteer during the installation process. We also collect and upload summary information tracking the number of times each advertisement played. All information is maintained as summary data - no individual data is collected. |
