About the Update Report...

The Macintosh Software Update Report is a newsletter for Macintosh network managers, VARs and consultants. Its purpose is to help computer support professionals to stay abreast of updates to Macintosh system software, utilities, and applications. This bimonthly journal is a compendium of incremental changes to Macintosh (Apple & third party) software and firmware. The Update Report provides a single, convenient source to find out what software has been changed and for what reason.

The Update Report is published every two months and runs about 24 pages per issue (but there is no limit on the length). We report on the changes to all relevant Apple and third party software. In general we do not report on games, educational, or music software.


Update Database

Each issue comes with the Update Database which contains the entire body of information from which the current issue is based. Here you will find any additional notes, compatibility information, warnings, etc. from the software and hardware vendors. The Update Database is in Easy View (the Tidbits reader) format which allows the user to search the update information with a computer. One could, for example, search for "ATM" to see if any vendor has reported an incompatibility or fix relevant to Adobe's ATM.

Vendor Contact Stack

In addition to the report and Update Database, subscribers receive the Vendor Contact Stack, an up-to-date HyperCard database of technical support contact info for over 500 Macintosh third party vendors. It contains tech support voice, fax & BBS phone numbers, online service email addresses & keywords, and Internet email, ftp, www, & Gopher info.

Purchasing the Macintosh Software Update Report

You may purchase a subscription to the Macintosh Software Update Report for only $150 per year (6 issues). Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time and the balance of the subscription fees will be refunded.

Qualified potential subscribers may receive a free evaluation copy. When requesting a sample, please state your occupation/job title and your mailing address.
