Internet Explorer does not connect automatically

It is possible that because of a bug in the Internet Explorer or because of a wrong setting, the connection with the Internet is not made automatically. On the following page you can check whether it is an error in the settings of the Internet Explorer version 4.x. If the problem lies within the Explorer, you can solve this problem by manually connecting to the Internet.

• Start the Internet Explorer.
• Close the connection.
• Close the Internet Explorer. The problem should be solved now.

• Double-click on My computer of 'My Computer'on your desktop.
• Continue by double-clicking Dial-Up Networking.
• Double-click on World Online.
• After entering your user name and password click the button Connect.

• It is possible to configure the Internet Explorer in such a way that a connection which has been idle for a certain period of time will be disconnected. This way you will not have to pay for unnecessary phone charges. You can change this by clicking Internet Options from the Tools menu. Continue by clicking the Connections tab. Next, select the first option (connect to the Internet using a modem) and click Settings.

• When you have clicked Settings the following screen will be opened. The first option for the dial-up network connection is usually set to World Online. Below this option you can enter your username, in small letters and your password. If you want to disconnect automatically after a certain period of time or you do not want to disconnect automatically, select the option on or off, accordingly. The number of minutes stands for the amount of time that the connection is idle.
