Freeciv for MacOSX 10.3

This is a multiplayer internetgame where you can fight against other fractions for the control of an unknown world, it’s heavily inspired by the classic Civilization II , but is completly free every way.

Installation and X11

Just drag the icon somewhere and see to it that you have X11.

To install you will need to get X11 for MacOSX, which is only available if you are using 10.3, if you are lucky to have 10.3 then you can either download the package from Apples download page http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/x11/download/ or you can pop in Panther Install CD #3 and install it from there. Installing from CD might be fastest since it’s a 46MB download.

For user of MacOSX 10.2 and less, there are a multitude of ways to get X11, please look around at http://www.xdarwin.com or perhaps http://fink.sourceforge.net/.

Playing Freeciv

Freeciv is originally a Unix game and that makes it very commandline centric, but to play an easy game on the internet by yourself do this:

Connecting to a game

Starting the game
---------------------
/list: List of players:
/list: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/list: YourName (Human) 1 connection:
/list: YourName from test.se (command access level ctrl), bufsize=40kb

Issues
Better docs needed, the server is actually included in this package but isn’t very eaasy to use. I hop that every thing will work out for you.
