Creating a quick screensaver with default
settings
These quick steps will help you create a Screensaver in a jiffy.
- Specify a flash movie that
you wish to convert into a screen saver.
- Provide a name for the
screen saver that will uniquely identify your screen saver.
- Specify an installer
path and a file name.
- Click on the Build Now
button and your screen saver is ready.
You can preview the
Screensaver and the Setting window before you build the Screensaver. You can
customize Screensaver using the various options available.

Q. What do I specify
in "Specify a File Path for your Screensaver Setup"?
You would need to specify
a file name for the screensaver installation you want to create. Choose a
path on your disk and give a file name e.g myscreensaversetup.exe.
Q. Will the ScreenSwift Splash screen or any other mention of ScreenSwift appear after I register the product ?
No. Once you register the product you would able to customize the Settings Window. Also the Splash Screen (which shows up when the software loads) and the ScreenSwift Banner (which shows up when the
screen saver loads) will be removed. No mention of ScreenSwift would appear. This gives you the freedom to re-brand the
screen saver.
Q. I have purchased ScreenSwift, where do I enter the registration code?
To register your product follow the below steps:

Open ScreenSwift

Click on the 'Help' button and then click on the 'Register Your Purchased Copy' menu.

Enter your Name, Company and Registration code.
Once you are done with these three steps your product would be registered and you will be able to use all the options and totally customize your
screen saver.

interactive Screen Savers?
Yes, you can make Interactive Screen Savers.

Uncheck the option to make the movie interactive.

General Options
Specifying Flash
Movie
Specify a flash movie
which you would like to convert to a screensaver.
Adding Resource
Files
You can add resource
files required by the main Flash Movie (SWF file). Example: If you are using
the LoadMovie function in Flash to call an external SWF, specify external
SWF files as Resource Files. Similarly, you can add other file types like
XML, WAV, MP3, TXT and so on which will be shipped with the installation.
Adding Files: Click the browse button and select file(s) to be added
to the project as resource files.
Removing Files: You can simply modify or remove resource file(s) by
editing the resource file text box. The resource files are separated by Semi
Colon “;”.
Hiding mouse cursor
Check this option to hide
mouse cursor during the run time of your screensaver.
Specifying Screensaver Background
Choose a background color
that you would like the screensaver to play on. This will come in effect
only when the movie size is kept to original.
Specifying a Screensaver Name
Specify a name that will
uniquely identify your screensaver.
Exit Screensaver On
To create interactive
screensavers specify mouse move, mouse click and key press behavior for the
Screensaver. The screensaver always exits on Escape Key.

Movie Options
Loop Movie
Enable a movie to loop or have it played just once when unchecked. However,
if the Flash has Stop, GoTo functions on the timeline Screenswift will not
override them.
Show Title over Movie
Display a Title bar above the movie played. This could be ideally used to
provide a caption/title of the screensaver or display your organization name
and return URL. You can customize Title background color and font face color
to suit your requirement.
Specifying Movie Quality
Choose the quality your screensaver should pay at. You can set the quality
options to Low, High, Auto Low, Auto High and Best. By default HIGH is
selected.
Specifying Volume Settings
Specify default volume properties for your Screensaver. Users can modify
default sound settings after installing the Screensaver.
Specifying Movie Size
Specify movie size you would like the screensaver to play in. You can choose
between “stretch to full screen” or “keep Original Size”.

Settings Box. You can also add URL, email address and specify additional
information about your company or the Screensaver.

Installer Window Options
Create an
executable installation file

Specify a file name and path where the Screensaver executable should be
created.

Use the browse button to specify the directory in which the
screensaver should be created and provide a file name. E.g. MyScreensaver.exe.

You can use the Folder Button to launch the directory where you have already
created the screensaver.
Installation Interface
You can customize the way your Screensaver installation looks during
installation. You can choose to use the same SWF or specify another SWF or
Bitmap to be shown during the installation.
Displaying License Information
You can display License Text during installation. Specify a .TXT file where
license information is available.
Creating Quiet Installation
To install the screensaver without any user interaction/interface to include
installation in any other installation:
At command prompt run: <screensaversetup.exe> /q /p
/q - for Quiet installation
/p - to specify target directory where the Screensaver should be installed.
This is optional.
Example:
yoursetup.exe /q /p "C:\Program Files\TargetDirectory\"
Saving a Screensaver Project
To save a screensaver project using menu: Project > Save else use CTRL + S
Screenswift Project files are saved with .SSP files.
To retrieve saved projects using menu: Project > Open else use CTRL + O
