Advanced Panel
- When download
is finished scan for viruses - This allows you to specify an anti-viral
program to scan files after they are downloaded. Simply check the box and
select a program to have files automatically scanned.
- HTTP user
agent - Here you can specify the User Agent that will be sent to HTTP
servers. The User Agent is an identifying string that iGetter sends to the
server telling it what kind of client is connecting to it. The default is
iGetter, but iGetter can be set to emulate Internet Explorer, Netscape and
others. You can also specify a custom agent string. There are some HTTP servers
that will not accept user agents other than Internet Explorer, Netscape or
other browsers.
- Send "Referer"
in HTTP requests - When this option is set iGetter automatically sends
the referrer information in the HTTP request. If the URL address is typed
in the New URL window, the "Referer" is the server/path to file
download. If this option is OFF, iGetter will not send the 'Referer' in the
HTTP request. Some HTTP servers will not admit your request if this field
is not present.
- Treat
unresolvable server errors as resolvable (reconnect if broken) - This
option dictates that all unresolvable errors will be treated as resolvable.
This option may help in situations when servers don't respect the HTTP/FTP
specifications for errors and return non-fatal errors as fatal ones. If this
option is on, iGetter will attempt to reconnect until all reconnection attempts
are exhausted (the number of reconnect attempts is specified in the "Connections"
panel).
- Share
mirror info - Setting this option supports iGetter search downloads
center by sharing URLs downloaded with iGetter from the Internet. Sharing
of these URLs helps other iGetter users quickly find mirror servers for files
they want to download.
For security purposes iGetter will filter all downloaded file URLs conforming
to IANA specification for private address space* (also internal-only IP addresses)
and password protected URLs. In addition, iGetter will filter every image,
movie and web-page type URLs as well as URLs of files smaller than 100KB.
If you are not sure that you want to share mirror URLs just uncheck this option.
* - see RFC1918
Chapter 3 - http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1918.html
- Automatically
check for new version
- iGetter will automatically check for a new version every week. If a new
version has been released, you will be informed by a notification window,
and if you choose it will be automatically added to your download queue for
downloading.
- "Shut
down computer when done" function really does *Shut Down/Sleep* -
Here you can specify what really will do the 'Shut
down computer when done' function. If you don't want your computer to
be turned off but to go to sleep, you can set 'Sleep' in the pop-up menu.
