Lineage-Linked Databases
A Lineage-linked database is what is created as you enter information into your Legacy Family File. Many researchers choose to publish their lineage-linked database to the Internet. The sites listed above are major repositories for these electronic databases. Some can be searched freely, others required a nominal subscription fee.
Cautions
Information found in these databases should be used as a starting point for your research. Some information may be well-documented, while other information may not have been thoroughly-researched. Always verify information before adding it to your Legacy Family File.
Genealogical Standards and Guidelines
The National Genealogical Society has published guidelines for sharing information with others. It is found at http://www.ngsgenealogy.org/comstandsharing.htm.
