Installing Corel Snapfire or
Corel Snapfire Plus
Before Installing Corel Snapfire or Corel Snapfire Plus
1. Close all open applications, including all virus detection software, firewall applications, and any other applications that are open in the system tray or on the Windows taskbar. Not doing so may increase the installation time and interfere with installation.
2. On Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you need to be logged in as an administrator or as a user with local administrative rights.
3. Make sure that you have 100 MB of free disk space available on the drive where you want to install the application.
4. To avoid potential file and memory conflicts, close all running programs, and delete the contents of your system’s TEMP folders [C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp] and [C:\<Windows>\Temp].
5. It is recommended that you install Corel Snapfire in the default directory to avoid conflicts with other applications.
To install Corel
Snapfire or Corel Snapfire Plus from an electronic download
Before you begin, please read Before Installing Corel Snapfire.
1. On the download screen, select Run.
2. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
To install Corel
Snapfire Plus from a CD
Before you begin, please read Before Installing Corel Snapfire.
1.
Insert the CD in the CD drive.
If the initial screen does not appear automatically, click Start on the
Windows taskbar, and click Run. Type D:\Setup.exe, where D
is the letter that corresponds to the CD drive.
2. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
To uninstall Corel Snapfire or Corel
Snapfire Plus
1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Control panel > Add or remove programs.

Select Corel Snapfire or Corel Snapfire Plus from the program
list, and then click Remove.
Note: User-created files (including, but not limited to .SnapfireShow filename extensions) are not deleted from the system. Those files must be deleted manually.
The user guide is available in PDF format and is included on the CD and available online. To open the file, please select Corel Snapfire User Guide or Corel Snapfire Plus User Guide, as appropriate for your application. Viewing the user guide PDF file requires the free Adobe® Reader®.
For a list of known problems with this version, please see the Release Notes. Alternatively, you may visit the Corel® Knowledge Base™, select Corel Snapfire or Corel Snapfire Plus in the Product and Services menu, and enter ”release notes” in the Search Text field.
Trial, Academic, and OEM Versions
Not all components are available in our trial, Academic,
and OEM versions. Unavailable components may include Corel applications,
features, and third-party utilities. The applications and documentation,
however, may refer to some of these components. A slightly longer launch time
may be noticed in the trial versions due to increased security checking.
The Corel Customer Support Web site includes the Corel Knowledge Base, which
contains answers to many common problems, and a link to send questions by
e-mail. Customer support is not available for OEM, “white box,” jewel case (CD
only), trial, or Academic versions of Corel products.
