You have just clicked the
graphic representing the control server. When you install the control server,
you are setting up a Windows NT service that allows communication between the
web-based console and the ControlCenter ST Agent. The console will be able to
see the system and volume information of the agent.
The ODBC Database stores
system and volume information that the control server receives from each
managed server.
The web server allows the
applications in the web console to access the ODBC database.
You can install the
control server and the ODBC database on the same machine as the web server.
