Leaving a match

At times, you may need to leave a match before it is completed. At other times, you may get disconnected from the server due to network problems. In either case, your match in progress will be saved automatically by the server for approximately 90 days, after which it will be discarded.

Leaving during play

If you need to leave a match before it is completed, please make sure to notify your opponent that you are leaving. It is extremely rude to just leave a match suddenly, and if you do so often, you will develop a reputation as someone to be avoided.

Nothing is sent to FIBS while you are moving checkers. When you've taken your two moves (or one, three, or four moves depending on the circumstances), click either of your dice on the board. If Sound is enabled, you will hear your dice being picked up from the board. The dice remain on the board until confirmation is received back from FIBS that the roll was accepted. You can see the move command and response from FIBS in the Terminal window.

Undoing moves

When you click the dice, you have committed that move; it's too late to change your mind!

Before you send your move, if you make a mistake in moving or simply wish to make a different move, you can take back a move using one of three methods:

    1. drag the checker back to its original position, or
    2. use the Undo Move(Cmd-Z) command (under the Edit menu), or
    3. refresh the board (Cmd-B) to reset to the board position before you moved any checkers. This undoes all moves you have made this turn.
