It is possible that delays and device in use conditions may be encountered when running multiple IDE CD devices on your computer. These conflicts result in lower overall transfer rates and even to costly buffer underrun errors. You can minimize these conflicts by separating your recorder and CD-ROM devices and installing them on different channels. For systems with a single hard drive (HDD), we recommend that you install the CD recorder on the Secondary Channel as the Master device. Your HDD should be the Master device on the Primary Channel and the CD-ROM drive should be installed as the Slave device on this channel. In general, this configuration will allow less conflicts and greater writing speeds with fewer buffer underrun errors. As always, you should consult your CD recorder’s manufacturer for any potential conflicts with the above configuration.
