The easiest way to use First Contact Communicator is through the Game Integration Mode, which is specifically designed for multi-player Internet games. This mode is activated automatically when First Contact detects that you are playing one of the supported games, and connected to a game server. Once a connection is detected, First Contact will determine the team you are in, and connect you automatically into the voice conference for that team. What this means is that you just have to have First Contact running, and then use whichever method you usually use to connect to the game servers (from inside the game itself, or from a game browser like GameSpy3D, etc). And once you join a team, you will be able to communicate with the other players in your team. Note that every time you change teams, you are going to be connected to the conference of that team. By using this method, you don't have to concern yourself with the other players IP addresses, nor agree upon a common IP, or figure out who is hosting the voice session. The only requirement is to have First Contact running (which can be minimized to the Tray Bar), and then connect to your favorite server. While you are playing, First Contact will detect whenever you change teams, and reconnect you with the other players in your new team. Notice that the Game Integration Mode is not available for all internet games. Special plugins are required for each different game. First Contact ships with a set of plugins that support some of the most popular games. For a list of supported games go here. This does not mean that First Contact cannot work with games other than those supported by the Game Integration Mode. First Contact Communicator can work with most games. But for those not supported by the Game Integration Mode, a Manual Connection has to be established with the other users. If you are not playing with other friends, it may happen that in the server you connect to, there may be no other player using First Contact Communicator. In which case, even if GIM started properly a voice conference, you may be the only player in it. To find game servers where other First Contact users are playing, use the Server Browser built into First Contact.
