Posting from Other Applications

You can send news items from some other applications to MarsEdit to post to your weblog. When you send a news item, MarsEdit opens a new window, ready for editing.

An example is NetNewsWire: when you choose Post to Weblog, NetNewsWire sends the selected news item to MarsEdit.

How to format incoming news items

  1. Choose PreferencesÉ from the MarsEdit window.
  2. Click the Attribution tab if itŐs not selected.
  3. Edit the template that appears in that tab.

The Insert pull-down menu allows you to insert different template items: title, URL, and so on.

In NetNewsWire, thereŐs a Weblog Editor preferences pane where you can choose MarsEdit as your weblog editor.

Other applications which support external weblog editors should have similar configuration.
