Advanced Web Ranking User Guide

The Overview report

This is a tabular report that aggregates all the available information regarding a given URL. You can select the URL for which this report is being generated from the URLs panel on the left-side.

There are two available views for this report. You can switch between views from the corresponding toolbar buttons: [Order by search engine] and [Order by keywords].

If you sort the view by search engines, the keywords will be presented as rows and the search engines as columns. If you sort the view by keywords, the search engines will be presented as rows, while the keywords will be shown as columns.

Each cell holds the URL's position in that particular search engine for the given keyword. If there is a difference between the last update and the current update, the cell will also contain information about what has changed.

The change information is displayed as an icon placed to the right of the position. The change may be: "added", "dropped", "moved up" and "moved down". For the "moved up" and "moved down" changes, the number of places your URL has moved up or down is also displayed. No icon is displayed if there is no change.

By default, the comparison is made between the current day and the last update. But you can compare any day with a previous day by selecting the days in the "Compare to" dropdown and the "Date" dropdown. The "Compare to" dropdown will refresh to dispaly only the days that preceed the day selected in the "Date" dropdown.

If you do not wish to see a comparison with a previous day, you can select "None" in the "Compare to" dropdown.

Also tied to the selected date is the "Visibility" section in the lower part of the Overview page. Two drop-downs are available here, which will help you filter the visibility results: Search Engines and Keywords. You can either choose to see the general visibility information for all search engines and keywords in your report, or select particular combinations of the two. The visibility data will adjust to the choices you make.

When selecting a row in the Overview Report, the corresponding keyword will become the selected keyword for the project, triggering changes in the other panels of the application.

A filter is available in the top left corner of the Overview report. Type one of the active keywords of your project in the filter box and the report will display only information related to the specified keyword.

Each cell in the Overview report can lead you to the page in the search engine where that data was found. Simply click on the cell representing the position of your URL on the selected search engine, for the selected keyword and the respective page will be opened in your default browser.
