MCI Instant
MCI Instant addresses are used to send mail to other MCI
subscribers. You can send messages, as well as attached
 files.

This dialog box provides 6 fields that you can fill
information into, but not all the fields are required.

You must supply either the Name or the MCI Acct. Number for
messages to be delivered. It's best to supply the MCI
account number, if you have it. If you supply just the Name,
you message may not be delivered (since more than one person
can have the same name); see Name Conflicts below for more
 information.

Name
(Name or MCI Acct. required) In this field, you should type
the person's full name. If you don't know their MCI ID,
just the name will often work. Note: you'll often need to
use proper names instead of informal names, such as "Robert"
instead of "Bob", for first names. (See the Name Conflicts
  note below.)

Note
(Optional) This field allows you to type in a note that
will appear in your address book. This is purely for your
  own information.

MCI User Name
(Not used) This is the MCI login name for an MCI user. It
is usually the first initial from your name followed by your
  last name.

Location, Organization
(Optional) If supplied, MCI will use this information when
it tries to resolve conflicts as a result of more than one
person having the same name. Not needed if you supply the
  MCI Account number.

MCI Acct. Number
(Name or MCI Acct. required) The recipient's MCI account
number, if you have it, is the best way to ensure your
message will be delivered properly since the account number
is unique for each account. If you don't know the number,
which is usually 7 digits long (example: 222-3333), leave
  this field blank.

Name Conflicts
If you just supply the name, there may be more than one MCI
subscriber with the same name. In this case, you'll receive
a message back from MCI that contains a list of the people
with the same name, along with the text from your message.
When you get such a message, use Forward to edit the message
and resend it. You'll need to remove the old address
information and supply the correct address in the To: field
at the top of the message creation window.
