TCP/IP Installation

To use the search engine on this CDROM it is required that you have the TCP/IP network drivers installed on your machine. Before following these simple install instructions you must have your original Windows&TM CDROM or floppy disks available.

The first step is to open the Control Panel from the Start - Settings menu at the bottom of the Windows screen. This will then show a number of icons related to setup - double click on the Network Icon in this box

Next you will see the Configuration menu, click on the add tab at the bottom of the blank box. (If you already see the TCPIP option installed then cancel the installation).

From the Select Network Component Type window that pops up choose the item called protocol.

Now from the list that appears select the Microsoft - TCPIP options from the left and right windows (correspondingly). Hit the OK button to continue.

The program will then ask you to enter the device in the Select Device window. At this point scroll down to the Microsoft entry in the left window and click on this item, then from the right hand window select the Dial Up Adapter. Then click on the OK button.

The installation program will then prompt you for various Windows disks or the CDROM, follow these instructions until the machine reboots, at which time the computer will then have the TCPIP drivers installed.

Now set an IP address by double clicking Network in the Control Panel again. Choose TCP/IP, specify any IP address (eg: 200.200.200.1), and click OK.
