Penn Station (tel: (410) 291 4261) is located at 1500 North Charles Street, in the Mount Vernon district. Both the local provider Maryland Area Rail Commuter MARC (tel: (800) 325 7245) and the national provider Amtrak (tel: (800) 872 7245; website: www.amtrak.com) use this station. Facilities at Penn Station include restaurants, ATMs, a postal vending machine, waiting room, baggage checking, porter service, full disabled access and car rental (Thrifty).

Rail services: Baltimore is situated along the northeastern Amtrak corridor, which goes from Washington, DC to Boston via Philadelphia and New York. The journey time from Baltimore to Washington, DC, is 35 minutes and to Boston is 8 hours. Other destinations are Orlando and Miami in Florida (via Savannah, Georgia); New Orleans, Louisiana (via Atlanta, Georgia); and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Transport to the city: Taxis are readily available outside. There are local bus routes that stop at Penn Station but it is not on the Metro Subway.
