Rail

The city has two main railways stations, Lyon Part-Dieu, Place Beraudier, and Lyon Perrache, 10 Cours de Verdun. The stations share roughly equal amounts of the train traffic. Both stations have a café, snack bar, ATM, newsagent and tourist information office, and a bus link to Lyon-St-Exupéry Airport.

Tickets can be purchased from the French rail service, SNCF (tel: (08) 36 35 35 35; e-mail: webra@sncf.fr; web site: www.sncf.fr), which also has an office at Lyon Perrache station.

Rail services:
A TGV service leaves Lyons for Paris every half hour (journey time - two hours). Direct services are also available to Geneva (journey time - one hour); Turin (2 hours); Montpellier (2 hours 30 minutes); Marseille (2 hours 35 minutes) and Nantes (4 hours 20 minutes).

Transport to the city:
There are plenty of buses and taxis available at the railway stations. Both stations are also on the métro.
