Accommodation

Hotel accommodation can be in short supply in Berlin (especially in the lower price ranges), and the process of moving the Government from Bonn may place extra stress on the city's room capacity. It is advisable to book ahead, particularly during high season. There are about 470 places to stay in Berlin, with 52,000 beds currently available and plans to increase this by at least 3000 beds by the year 2000. VAT and a hotel tax of 10% is usually included in the price of a room.
