Amtrak (tel: (214) 653 1101 or (800) 872 7245, toll free in the USA and Canada; website: www.amtrak.com) uses Union Station, 401 South Houston Street, on the west side of the downtown. Facilities are limited to cafÉ, ATMs and vending machines.

Rail services: The two major routes out of Dallas are northeast to Chicago (at 1515 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday) and southwest to San Antonio with connections then available to other destinations.

Transport to the city: Taxis are car hire vehicles are available. DART buses and the light commuter rail service all connect here. There is also a pedestrian tunnel to the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
