Aéroport International Jean-Lesage (YQB)

Tel: (418) 640 2600.

Quebec City's airport lies 20km (12 miles) west of Old Quebec and handles primarily domestic flights, although there are a few flights to destinations in the USA. Most international flights arrive at Montreal, a short flight away. Quebec City's airport also serves as the main departure point for the remote towns in the north and east of the province.

Major airlines:
The national airline is Air Canada (tel: (418) 692 0770 or (888) 247 2262; web site: www.aircanada.ca), which took over Canadian Airlines International (tel: (418) 692 1031; web site: www.cdnair.ca) in January 2000. At time of writing, flights can still be booked from either company but the flight itself may be on the other carrier's plane. To minimise difficulties, exact flight details and frequent flier status should be verified in advance.

Other carriers serving the airport include Air Inuit, Air Nova, Air Transat, Business Express, Continental Airlines and Regionair.
