National Rail Enquiries (tel: (0845) 748 4950) provides information on UK rail services. Cardiff Central is the main station. The booking office is open Monday to Saturday 0545-2130 and Sunday 0645-2130. Facilities include a tourist information centre, ATMs, newsagent and a fast-food outlet. Hertz has a car hire office just outside the main building.

Rail services: Hourly services to and from London Paddington are run by Great Western (tel: (0845) 700 0125) via Reading, Swindon, Bristol Parkway and Newport. The journey takes three hours. Wales and West (tel: (0845) 712 5625) runs two direct trains daily between Cardiff Central and London Waterloo (with connections to Paris and Brussels via the Eurostar). There are also rail connections between Cardiff, Swansea and West Wales.

Transport to the city: Cardiff Central is located three minutes' walk southwest of the city centre.
