Tours of the City Walking Tours A booklet of six downtown walking tours is available from the Greater Denver Chamber of Commerce, 1445 Market Street (tel: (303) 534 8500). In summer, the Denver Convention and Visitors Bureau conducts free walking tours of downtown taking in a selection of the major attractions. Routes and departure points vary, so visitors should telephone or visit the Denver Info Center at Larimer Street (tel: (303) 892 1112) for current details. Tours are suitable for anyone of average fitness wearing comfortable walking shoes or trainers. Bus Tours The Cultural Connection Trolley takes in most of the main attractions and runs every half hour 0900-2330 daily from May to early September. Tickets cost US$3 from the driver and are valid all day. Tour departs from Denver Performing Arts Complex but can be picked up at any point on the circuit. Gray Line of Denver (tel: (303) 289 2841; fax: (303) 286 7052; e-mail: marcgrayline@mindspring.com; web site: www.coloradograyline.com) has a varied programme of tours, including the 'Denver City Tour', which takes three and a half hours, and covers all the major sites. This tour costs US$30 and includes admission to the Molly Brown House Museum. |
