The airport, France's seventh largest, is situated 12km (seven miles) southwest of Strasbourg. The Chamber of Commerce is investing 20 million US Dollars on a new terminal and amenities for the 22 existing airlines. International links include flights to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Hamburg, London, Milan, Munich and Vienna. There are excellent connections to Paris - links between the two cities represent approximately 60% of the airport's traffic.

Major airlines: These include Air France (tel: (0802) 802 802 in France or (03) 8855 2605 outside France), Air Littoral, Regional Airlines and Sabena.

Approximate flight times to Strasbourg: From London is 1 hour 20 minutes; from New York is 8 hours 5 minutes (plus transfer); from Los Angeles is 11 hours 35 minutes (plus transfer); from Toronto is 8 hours 15 minutes (plus transfer); and from Sydney is 23 hours 50 minutes (plus transfer).

Airport facilities: These include duty-free shops and boutiques, a restaurant, bar, newsagent (Relais H), bureau de change with two ATMs and car hire (Ada, Avis, Budget France, Europcar, National Citer, Hertz and Sixt).

Business facilities: The Restaurant de l'Europe (tel: (03) 8868 8048) on the first floor has a meeting room (capacity for eight to ten people). The Chamber of Commerce (tel: (03) 8864 6797) has a conference room on the second floor with a capacity for 200 people.

Arrival/departure tax: None.

Transport to the city: Compagnie de Transport Strasbourgeois (CTS) (tel: (03) 8877 7070) run frequent shuttles (navettes) that take 12 minutes to the centre of town and cost about FFr27 (single). Taxis cost approximately FFr150.
