Walking Tours
There are a number of marked trails in the hills surrounding the city, ideal for strolling or jogging. The promenade along the lakeside is popular with locals and tourists alike. The Guide Department at the Tourist Information Office (tel: (01) 215 4088) organises tailored group tours as well as standard two-hour tours of the Old Town for SFr18 (concessions available).

Bus Tours
The Tourist Information Office is the best source for a variety of tours of the city, lasting two to two-and-a-half hours and costing SFr29-39. Most involve a detour into the countryside. Some also include a cable car or boat trip. Tram tours in decorated vehicles are also available, with refreshments provided.

Boat Tours
Cruises are offered on Lake Zurich from April to October by Zürichsee-Schifffahrtsgesellschaft (see Getting There section). Costs vary from SFr5.40-33 depending on the length of the cruise. Reservations are only necessary for those planning to dine onboard, the lunchtime cruise is only SFr8 (tel: (01) 482 6830 for reservations). A one-hour river cruise is available for SFr3.60.
