Perth's port is Fremantle, 19km (12 miles) to the southwest, a historical town and destination in its own right. The Port Authority (tel: (08) 94 30 35 67)can provide details on ships calling here.
Ferry services:
Captain Cook Cruises (tel: (08) 93 25 33 41) offers a scenic ferry service to the city leaving from the East Street Jetty at 1100, 1515 and 1540; cost A$14 one way. Similar services are provided by Golden Sun Cruises (tel: (08) 93 25 16 16) and Oceanic Cruises (tel: (08) 94 30 51 27). Some scenic ferry tours also operate from Fremantle; and various cruise ships stop there too.
Transport to the city:
Fremantle Line trains depart regularly from Fremantle Railway Station (journey time - 25 minutes). Bus 105 (from Fremantle Interchange), 106 (from Queen Street at Adelaide Street) and 881 (from Fremantle Cemetary) all go to Hay Street in the city.
