Website: www.ci.houston.tx.us/has/iah.html Located 35km (22 miles) north of the city, the airport is used by over 20 airlines for both international and domestic flights, serving 150 destinations worldwide from four terminals. In 1998, around 31 million passengers passed through the airport. Major airlines: Continental Airlines (tel: (800) 525 0280, domestic flights; (800) 231 0856, international flights (both toll free USA and Canada only); website: www.continental.com) use George Bush Intercontinental Airport as their hub for both domestic and international flights. Other major airlines include Air Canada, Air France, American Airlines, British Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, Northwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines, TWA and United Airlines. Airport facilities: These include bureaux de change, ATMs, tourist information, car hire (Avis, Dollar and Hertz), duty free, shops, restaurants, bars and games rooms. Business facilities: Airlines do provide business lounges for frequent flyer members only. Transport to the city: Express Shuttle (tel: (713) 523 8888) operates a service downtown for US$18, 0715-2330 every 30 minutes (journey time - one hour). METRO (tel: (713) 635 4000) operates regular public buses downtown for US$1.50, Monday-Friday 0600-1000 and 1400-1900 every 25 minutes (journey time - one hour). Major airlines: Southwest Airlines (tel: (281) 922 1221 or (800) 435 9792, toll free USA and Canada only; website: www.iflyswa.com ) uses William P Hobby Airport as its hub. Other major airlines include: American Airlines, American Eagle, Comair, Continental Express, Delta Airlines and Northwest Airlines. Airport facilities: These include bureaux de change, ATMs, tourist information, car hire (Avis, Dollar and Hertz), shops and restaurants. Business facilities: There is a meeting room for hire (tel: (713) 640 3000), but no additional business services. Transport to the city: Express Shuttle (tel: (713) 523 8888) operates a regular service downtown for US$11, 0730-2200 (journey time - 1 hour). METRO (tel: (713) 635 4000) operates regular public buses downtown for US$1.00, daily 0500-2400 every 30 minutes (journey time - 45 minutes).
