Cache Explorer allows you to view Internet Explorer's Temporary Internet Files as they really exist on your system.

The Temporary Internet Files are stored in at least 4 separate subfolders which allows for quicker file access. When viewing your Temporary Internet Files in Windows Explorer, you are shown one 'shell folder' that contains all of the cached files. In addition, it appears as if cookie files are contained in the Temporary Internet Files as well. In fact, Explorer is reading a list of cookie files from the index.dat file in your cookies folder. Just because they show up in the Temporary Internet Files, does not mean those particular cookies even exist on your system anymore. We choose to show you the files as they are actually stored on your system.
