itemDelimiter
Syntax
the itemDelimiter
Description
System property; indicates the special character used to separate items.
You can use the itemDelimiter

This function can be tested and set.
Example
This handler finds the last component in a Macintosh pathname. The handler first records the current delimiter and then changes the delimiter to a colon (:). When a colon is the delimiter, Lingo can use the last item of
to determine the last item in the chunk that makes up a Macintosh pathname. Before exiting, the delimiter is reset to its original value.
on getLastComponent pathName save = the itemDelimiter the itemDelimiter = ":" f = the last item of pathName the itemDelimiter = save return f end
