shiftDown
Syntax
the shiftDown
Description
System property; indicates whether the user is pressing the Shift key (TRUE
) or not (FALSE
).
In the Director player for Java, this function returns TRUE
only if the Shift key and another key are pressed simultaneously. If the Shift key is pressed by itself, shiftDown
returns FALSE
.
The Director player for Java supports key combinations with the Shift key. However, the browser receives the keys before the movie and thus responds to and intercepts any key combinations that are also browser keyboard shortcuts.
This property must be tested in conjunction with another key.
Example
This statement checks whether the Shift key is being pressed and calls the handler doCapitalA
if it is:
if (the shiftDown) then doCapitalA (the key)
