Introduction
The mass file renamer is a very flexible file renaming tool
which allows you to rename many files at once to the format
you want. You can access the mass file renamer from the File
tool > More Functions > Mass rename.
Usage
Unlike any other such tool, the jv16 PowerTools' mass file renamer
works using blocks. You can create the blocks you want to include
in the file names.
After you have created the blocks you need you can rearrange
them by simply dragging them. Also, you can use the mass file
renamer to change the files' file extensions by dragging the
blocks you want to the Extension box. If you wish to remove
some block you can do it by dragging it to the trash can next
to the OK button, or by selecting a block and hitting the delete
key from your keyboard.
Since the concept of mass renaming files with graphical blocks
can be quite difficult to learn at first here's a few examples.
You can try out these examples by first opening the file tool
then add some files to its list (either by using its search
features or by dragging some files to it from your computer),
select the files you wish to rename, click More Functions from
the bottom of the screen and select Mass rename.
