Requirements

Palm V or Vx - the hack would not work on other Palm hardware.

You would need HackMaster for this hack to operate. Please download and register HackMaster if you did not yet.

Hackmaster can be downloaded from http://www.daggerware.com or http://www.palmgear.com

Operation

Simply activate the hack in HackMaster. The app keys and HotSync key should be disabled after power off. Only power-on key should bring the unit up.

Upgrading

Please deactivate and remove previous version of ButtonGuard before installing new version.

• Disables HotSync button as well

• Turns off keyboard wake up interrupts - should not eat batteries at all if app key is jammed. Overnight jammed key does not result in any battery loss (real life test).

1.0 Initial Version

• Very generic, disabled app keys programmatically.
• Performance - 9 hours of jammed key after day of normal operation - battery alive, but on last legs
• With the key jammed, unit brought itself up every 5 seconds, the hack was sending it to sleep immediately. A lot of power consumed, still =-((
