Installation of GPS Pilot Atlas and its components.

For GPS Pilot applications users: if you are already using GPS Pilot Atlas, Tracker, FlyingPilot: DO NOT load Points.PDB nor Maps.pdb, or you will overwrite your actual database.

Install the files Atlas.prc using the standard Palm install tool.

If you use a Palm device* install the files Palm maps.pdb (or Palm 3.3 maps.pdb , or Palm color maps.pdb) and Palm points.pdb.

For PalmPilot model*, install the file PalmPilot maps.pdb and PalmPilot points.pdb.

Set your Palm in its cradle and HotSync.

Tutorial and First steps.

Select the Atlas icon on your Palm device. The map, on the first run, is centered around GPS Pilot headquarters in Sunnyvale California, USA, the heart of Silicon Valley...

If you have registered GPS Pilot Atlas, get the full size of Atlas by entering your registration code in the "About box" (selectable from the menu Option-About). Click on the Atlas icon to validate your code.

Zoom in and out with the hard scroll button, to get a different scale view. Indicators in the title line show if a new map is available; you can scroll using these indicators too.

Using your finger or the stylet, drag the maps to see surroundings and specific locations.

Re-center your map and get details on any location by clicking the icons on the map.

Click the center of the map, and choose the option "Center" to pick a location as new center...

Select the menu Maps List, to choose another map.

Create points by pressing the hard Note button (rightmost).

Make sure to read the help available via the menu options-help in almost every screen of our Palm applications.

Plug your GPS device, and forget the paper maps headaches to look up where you are, or suppose to be and where you go or should be going. Enjoy traveling light and accurate with your Palm and GPS Pilot Atlas to co-pilot you.

Check the Atlas web pages for more information on how to import your own maps and calibrate them on our Palm, how to beam maps to friends, details on the GPS connection, etc.
