Download PregCalc

PregCalc Personal is intentionally easy to use.

The information displayed on the screen is from top to bottom, the date of Last Menstrual Period (defined as the first day of the cycle -- that is, the day on which menstrual bleeding begins), the Estimated Date of Delivery, , and below, the gestational age, mother's expected weight gain, lab tests that might be ordered, and the suggested date of next appointment.

Since for medical purposes, pregnancy is defined as lasting 40 weeks from LMP date, most calculations are based on that number. You can change the LMP using either the up/down arrows or the "Set LMP" button. If you press "Set LMP", you'll be prompted to enter a date. The program will then calculate the EDD (40 weeks after the LMP). The other data is then also shown, for the moment of calculation. That is, if you enter an LMP date 39 weeks before today, the gestational age and other information will be for today.

You can also use the "set EDD" button. This allows you to set the date of delivery -- useful if you're planning a pregnancy and want to give birth at a certain time of year. Then you can use the LMP date to plan (remember that LMP is 14 days BEFORE conception) your pregnancy.

Once you are pregnant (congratulations!) The "save" feature becomes useful. If you've registered the program, when you enter the LMP and check the "save" box, the program displays the saved LMP every time it starts up -- the default behavior is to display today's date as the LMP. This saves you having to re-enter your LMP date every time you want to look up how far along you are.
