URLsync is a database application to store your favorite internet URLs, usernames, passwords of subscribed sites and additional notes on your PalmPilot(TM).It is distributed as FreeWare. You can use it as a standalone application without this desktop tool.

• Runs on win95/98/NT
• Requires MS Internet Explorer version 4 or later
• Requires HotSync software installed on the same PC

INSTALLATION

Unzip all files in this distribution to a blank folder. Then run URLSYNC.EXE . If you get a required
dll (MSVBVM50.DLL) not found message you have to download it and copy to same folder or preferably \WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder. You can download this dll from my site as well as from Microsoft:

You can create a shortcut on your desktop or Programs menu by using menu Tools-Create Shortcut of UrlSync Desktop or simply by pressing CTRL-C keys.

UPGRADE FROM PREVIOUS VERSION

Simply unzip all files to previous folder where Urlsync.exe resides.You can overwrite previous files if asked.

• It reads your IE favorites and creates URLsync palm db, after next hotsync you will have your bookmarks in your Palm Computing Device.
• Ability to transfer your palm db. records (username, passwords, Notes) to any spreadsheet program by using CSV file option.
• Direct transfer option to Excel sheet if you have Excel97 installed.
• Merging of favorites (created on the road) to your desktop is possible: Please note that "Username", "Password" and "Notes" field values entered on your palmpilot are kept in the desktop favorites folder as plain text. If you feel that your desktop PC is not secure enough do not fill in these fields. Please see the options menu definition below for important information about merge.

Mode: If the program is in "Selected Categories" mode you are presented a list of main categories when you want to create a new palm db (desktop favorites categories are shown), or merge operation (palm db categories are shown). You can select more than one category by using Ctrl and/or Shift keys. Only the sites in the selected categories are generated or merged. This gives you the flexibility of putting not all the categories to your Palm Computing device but only the selected ones.   If the mode is "selected categories" and the delete option is enabled (+d) at the same time, delete option is valid for only inside the selected categories.
	It is advised to keep backup copies of your favorites folders, especially before merge operation. Clicking the "Backup" button will create a backup copy with the current date-time as name. To restore, select one of the previous backups and click "Restore" button. Note: Do not keep too many backup copies (more than 3), it wastes too much disk space.
Strip ftp:// Since IE can detect the protocol used we can have URLs without ftp:// If you enable this option, URLs in the created palmdb will not contain ftp://
Strip http:// Same as above.
Do not apply deletions on merge: By enabling this option desktop categories and URLs will not be deleted during merge. Normally merge function synchronizes the palmdb to desktop favorites and non existing categories, URLs are deleted. You can use this option when merging two different favorites folders (For example one at work and one at home)
It is possible to have the same site in more than one category. Especially after a merge operation. You can call this tool by simply typing CTRL-D.

• If you get the error screen on the right, make sure you have unzipped the "eausrdat.dll" to the same folder with URLSync.exe

• If you warned by the program that you do not have MICROSOFT SCRIPTING ENGINES go to additional downloads page and follow the instructions.

• Rarely you might get a Path error or something like that during Backup operation, if your IE browser is open at that time closing it and trying again should solve the problem.
