Preferences
Preferences dialog
The "Preferences" dialog allows you to customize Smoothy processing. Preferences are defined for controlling processing of linefeed characters, defining whether or not hard keys are enabled, enabling global find and switching category systems. Previously chosen preferences are remembered each time Smoothy is used. Preferences are expressed by setting or resetting checkboxes.

Linefeed processing controls formatting of text. Whether or not "Strip linefeeds" is checked, sequences of more than 2 consecutive linefeeds always are reduced to two linefeeds. If "Strip linefeeds" is checked singleton linefeeds are eliminated. This latter choice causes explicit end-of-line within paragraphs to be suppressed.

Smoothy by default enables hard buttons to change font, turn scroll on/off, and proceed to next/previous document. Checking "Turn off hard buttons" disables this processing and reverts the hard buttons to their normal function of launching built-in applications.

Smoothy supports Palm OS global find initiated by the "Find" silkscreen key. However, since doc files may be very large and there may be several doc files, global find can be very slow. Because of that, global find is initially disabled and may be turned on and off with a preference.

Tapping the pop-trigger displays the list of other doc reader category systems supported by Smoothy. Select a doc reader name to change systems. See the category discussion for more information.
